Funded by Awards for All from the National Lottery’s Community Fund, the Digital Food Skills programme was developed as a continuation of the original Food Skills Programme. While the first programme focused on developing cooking skills among early years and primary children, Digital Food Skills builds on this foundation by offering more advanced content to further enhance the knowledge, skills and confidence of young people aged 10+.
Through engaging cook-along videos and educational resources, the programme covers a range of practical topics, including food hygiene and safety, knife skills, basic cooking principles, cost-effective cooking techniques, healthy eating habits, meal planning, and food labelling. The content is designed to be more complex than the initial Food Skills Course, ensuring young people gain deeper insights into both nutrition and culinary skills.
The project was highly successful, and following the completion of the funding period, Digital Food Skills is now available for purchase on our Training page. Contact us for a copy of the outcome report.
