Nutrition Scotland supports schools in various ways to ensure the most accurate, relevant and up-to-date nutritional information is given to staff, young people and their families. Our services are designed and delivered by Registered Nutritionists and Dietitians experienced in school-based nutrition research and service delivery.
Schools play a vital role in health education and provide the ideal setting for promoting life-long healthy behaviours. Educating young people about healthy living through the curriculum and engaging with parents and the wider community are effective ways in which schools help to reduce poor health outcomes.
Under usual circumstances we deliver staff training and family programmes within schools but due to COVID-19 and current restrictions we have developed an online Food Skills programme.

Food Skills Programme
We work directly with schools to deliver our 6-week online food skills programme. Recipes, ingredients for a family meal along with food and health information are delivered to schools for young people to take home. Parent/carers are offered the opportunity of free, confidential, one-to-one, nutritional support tailored to their particular family needs.
Some programmes are fully funded and delivered at no cost to the school, where funding is not available, we can deliver the programme at cost. Please contact us for further information.
